As promised, this workshop is happening! This is a beginner friendly slackline workshop focused on bringing more balance, core & single leg strength, and focus to our running. If you have prior slackline experience, that is also great - intermediate and advanced progressions will also be taught as needed. As you might expect, standing and walking will be covered in this workshop, as well as sitting, kneeling poses, inversions and even arm balances to get in our core work!

All you need to bring is yourself (and a friend!), some water to drink and a willingness to play. Dress comfortably - running attire is fine. Rain jackets might be advisable as well. Just like race day, this event will be rain or shine!

Since there are folks coming from both the east and west, I've decided to hold the workshop in Carrier Park in Asheville. I will post specific directions for the park location closer to time.

Cost: $10-30 sliding scale suggested donation. If this is an issue for anybody that wants to attend, please get in touch and we can figure something out.

Winston Salem Acro Doubleheader

Lyle and Jaimie are coming to share another installment of incredibly fun Acro Yoga with the Triad at the brand new Village Yoga Studio location on their grand opening weekend!

This time we will be bringing TWO workshops to the table for Sunday 4/24! Attend either one, or better yet - BOTH!

1-3pm Intro to Acro Yoga (All levels welcome!) $30

followed by

4-6pm Intermediate Washing Machine workshop (prior acro experience or intro workshop attendance) $30

$30 per workshop or BOTH for $50 if you sign up in advance! (There is a 30 person max capacity for each workshop)

Workshop Info - 

Intro to Acro Yoga: 
Curious about how to get started in the Acro Yoga practice or looking to strengthen your fundamentals? This two hour workshop will cover basic principles of AY, gaining awareness in our own bodies so that we may connect and play with others in a safe, supportive and fun way! We will cover techniques for all three roles in the practice - the base, flyer and spotter. Basic poses and a couple of transitions will be taught. 

No prior experience necessary! Familiarity with yoga is helpful, but not required.

Intermediate Washing Machine workshop:
If you are looking to take your AY practice up a notch, this workshop is for you! Those with prior AY experience or who took part in the Intro to Acro Yoga workshop will be comfortable to play.

We will be exploring elements of the YogaSlackers take on Acro Yoga - Slackro! This slackline yoga inspired Acro helps us to explore balance, strength and connection in a different and exciting way. This workshop will also introduce students to a washing machine - a series of poses linked together by transitions in a loop that can be repeated. Equal emphasis willl be given to the roles of bases, flyers and spotters, ensuring we play safely as we move deeper into the practice.

Slackro Machine Shop

Looking for something to spice up your acro yoga practice? Here's your chance! Join Lyle and Jaimie for a 2 1/2 hour workshop where we'll be exploring more of the "Slackro" practice - slackline inspired acro yoga. 

Slackro challenges you to build strength and balance in asymetrical poses and transitions to create a more developed movement skill set. We'll be focusing on how to shift our weight more effectively to move with ease rather than effort.

This workshop will introduce and refine TWO different washing machines for you to play with!

Yoga For Athletes

Yoga for Athletes is a blend of a yoga workshop and class, designed to take a closer look at how we move and how we engage our bodies to gain strength, mobility and focus for our athletic endeavors. Improved flexibility allows us to move with more efficiency and fluidity. 

Climbers, kayakers, CrossFit athletes, cyclists and more will benefit from this workshop, gaining both a greater movement awareness in class, as well as skills to add to your training tool boxes. 

No previous yoga experience is necessary!
